The Mystery of Edwin Drood
Charles Dickens's last novel, a mystery set in the cathedral city of Cloisterham, a thinly veiled Rochester. Dickens was writing it in his Swiss chalet at Gad's Hill the day before he died in June 1870, and it was left unfinished.
